Biography
Nora Nangapa grew up for the first part of her life in the desert. As a young woman she came in from the desert with her family. During that time she befriended Eubena Nampitjin and the two women have shared a friendship for all of those years. Nora still lives in Kunawarritji and travels to Balgo intermittently with Nora Wompi, both of whom have family in Balgo. The three women paint, hunt and laugh together. They sing the country up as they lavish their canvas with paint and share stories about dreaming, family and life. Nora had 5 children Gearge Nanya, Flacky Stevens, Joanna Polly, Mary Nangapa and one that passed away. She is also a strong Maparn and respected healer.
