Kukatja and English
Jane Gimme is the daughter of renowned indigenous artist Eubena Nampitjin. Although growing up in Balgo in a western styled manner, Eubena has taught and ensured that Jane continues to practice the traditions of her culture. Currently, Jane is one of the primary language speakers in the community and often grows up the younger ones in this area. While like her mother Jane employs bright colors with the canvas, unlike Eubena, Jane’s works are ones of precision and delicate structure. She started painting in 2000, but it is in the last years that this realm has taken on strength of dedication. As she continues to paint with reverie, her style is continually evolving.
