Title : Ngantalarra
Size/Medium : 610 x 457mm: acrylic on canvas Painting

Melissa has depicted some of her TjaTja (grandmother’s) country called Ngantalarra. The many U shapes  represent women hunting for food. Among the tali you can find an abundance of mangarri (bush tucker) including Kumpupatja (bush tomato), and spinifex which turns green after the rain. Melissa was taken to this country by the old women, including her grand mother Bai Bai Napangarti, she was shown how to hunt and they had a big corroboree.
