Kumpaya has painted some of her traditional country, which she lived in traditionally as a young girl. This country is Martu country, and all along the Canning Stock Route. The circles in this work depict ancient soakwaters, which were turned into Wells during the Canning Stock Route Project. These sites hold important tjukurrpa for Kumpaya and her family. They are sites of water, food, shelter and story. In order from top to bottom, the names of place for these sites are; Kinyu (Well 33), Punmu, Parngurr, Jigalong and Tjitjayi bore.
