This painting depicts some of the country south of Yagga Yagga in the Great Sandy Desert. This is the country of Ningie’s youth. The circle in the painting is a tjurrnu, or soak water called Patarr. Patarr is known as a ‘living water’, as it always contains good water. Surrounding Patarr are the tali (sandhills) that dominate this country.
