Marie tells the story for this painting: “This one is big rain coming. It’s flooded here everywhere (the central vertical line). People made shelters (the U shapes). This is Sturt Creek and some people are on the otherside. That water seperates them. They talk to each other across the river. They go fishing, catch lots of bush tucker. Milkwater. I was there. I was there as a child and when the water was coming up we had to cross quickly. To the other side to collect our food and then go back. When I was little I was there.” -Marie Mudgedell
