Artist Tossie Baadjo
Karntawarra is the name of a small rockhole, found on Tossie's grandmother's country, north west of Wilkinkarra, or Lake Mackay, the vast salt lake south of Balgo in The Great Sandy Desert. Karntawarra only holds water after rain, and is shown here in the centre of the painting. As seen through different section, the area of country is diverse showing the great many flowers that bloom and provide foods, the numerous waterholes, the enormous amounts of mungari found, the continual tali (sandhills) and of course the lower sections illustrating people gathering foods.
