Painting

In this artwork, Bianca painted Mangarri (food) and Bush Medicine according to her grandmother’s style, Marie Mudgedell who is one of the eldest artsts from Warlayirti Artists.

This painting represents the bush food (mangarri) – kumpupatja (bush tomato), karnti (bush sweet potato), tjirrilpatja (bush carrots) and ngarlukutu (bush coconut) – and bush medecine that the women collected together.

Marie said about it : “We boil it, good for boil and scabies, for skin. Lemongrass, have it as a tea. We drink it every morning for kidney. Bush vicks, we make vicks for cold sick.”
