This is the story of some of Helen’s mother’s (Milliga- deceased) country. Located at the very south of Balgo near Tjukurrla and Warakuna, this country is known as Gaugo and is very sacred. Helen paints several varieties of bush food, or mungarri – bush tomato, Witjirrki (wild fig), bush onion, Pamilyi (bush passionfruit) and Tjurnta (bush seeds). Helen paints about the abundance of food in this special place, Gaugo.
