Here, Josephine has painted her country, and her families country; Nyilla, which near the Canning Stock route in the middle of the Great Sandy Desert. “When I was young with my parents and family they showed me how to hunt and showed me my country. All the rockholes and sandunes for hunting in.” The many circles represent the tjurnu, or soakwaters of this country.
This painting was completed with the assistance of Josie’s younger sister, Tossie Baadjo.
