This painting depicts Jeanie’s childhood and memories in Nyrippi.
“No house nothing, only humpy. Sitting around the creek, Billabong. We would walk around and find witchety grubs, i remember finding biggest mob under one tree. we would also walk around and find bush potatoes in a small Coolamon (Burraja) same as we would take the bush tomatoes. Then we put them on a stick and put them in the coals until their nice and soft. All the kids would also help us hunt and then get into the water for a swim.”
