Dulcie has painted Karlyapilyirra a site close to Pipaar, south of Balgo in the Great Sandy Desert. Central to the artwork is the the necessity of life in the desert – the waterhole. The white swirls indicate the saltpans and the light brown swirls are the clay pans, surrounded by sandhills (red and orange radiating lines) that shift with the seasons. Here, Duclie tells of her country, its heritage and its life giving gifts.
