Monica has painted some of her father’s country Piparr, south of Yagga Yagga, this painting tells the Tjukurrpa (dreaming) story of a mother and father, they were walking and their baby was crying all day and night so the father said they had to drop the baby because a dingo started following them. So they dropped the baby and it turned into a rockhole, this site is called Tjitjiparrar. In this painting the red squares are sacred sites for women and men’s business – each one can’t enter the other.
