Noonie is the daughter of well known Warlayirti Artist, Veronica Lulu. Painting some of her mother’s traditional country, located close to her home community of Mulan. Resonating from the central waterhole, this painting features mungil, a type of seed. It was a common food source when Veronica was younger and before she came to live at Mulan permanently. Mungil is blue and purple when it is raw, turning yellow when cooked. It is washed to get rid of the salty flavour, then ground up to make flour for damper. In this area where both Noonie and her mother Veronica still live Mungil is found aplenty and still used today to make delicious bushtucker.
