“This is the stories about my Great Great Grandfather’s Country called Jupiter Well, near Canning Stock Route. Between Alice Springs & Port Hedland. My dad Joey Helicopter Tjungurrayi families were born there too from mum’s & dad’s. They be grown up with their families and be taught in traditional ways of their lives. They start looking and listening to families including speaking the languages. Plus sign talking ever when something is bad or good. They share food, waters from rockholes (circle in the middle of painting). They also feed the bet dingoes. They lived in a shelter, caves. Everyday hunting – north, south, east, west. They keep kinship, culture strong.
They also love making more weapons for hunting and carrying babies, bush berries and other things. Aboriginals be learn both ways, kartiya’s way too. Old peoples teaching us about our Great great Tjamu (grandfather) country. They passing the stories to young ones. We learning more and more.
Palya, Tjukurrpa wangka. This means good about histories story in Great Sandy Desert.”
