Ann Frances illustrates various bushtucker found within her father’s country Myima. This country is located near the Gibson Desert, a long journey from her current home in Balgo. Divided by the numerous lines of colour that reference the tali (sandhills) Anne depicts Bora (Bush Potato), Mangart (Quandong), and Kumpurt (Bush Raisins), as well as numerous other mungari. Also painted with amazing detail is an array of different bush tucker seeds found throughout the desert. This stunning painting shows strongly the connection to country, and essential traditional indigenous knowledge needed to survive in the harsh environments of the desert.
