“This is my mothers country. Kunakulu. Thats where she was born. This is the seven sisters. Those hills. Nakarra Nakarra hills. This is all the women sitting around, getting painted up for the womens ceremony. They got all the painting on there breasts. Waiting for ceremony. My mother told me the story for this place, we still go out, take all the womens, children…. womens and girls. That dreaming track is where we go for dancing. This is my mothers country where she was born. I take my kids out there now. Its a lovely country, its got lots of kangaroos out there. The patterns on the outside of painting are sand dunes. The Great Sandy Desert is sand dune country.” Kathryn Njamme
