Shirley has painted her Country, near Paruku (Lake Gregory) and the community of Mulan. The lake is fed by a number of streams and estuaries which rise and fall with the seasons, and in turn provide sustenance to the plant life surrounding the water ways. Surrounding the waterholes are an abundance of bush foods, flowers and seeds.
