Ningie has painted some of her country located south of Balgo in the Great Sandy Desert. This country is known as Yula after the tjurrnu (soakwater) depicted as the green circular lines in the painting. The many parallel lines represent floodplains as well as the tali (sand hills) found in this country. This is the country of Ningie’s youth.
