Alison has painted some of her father’s country (Mick Gill), which is south of Balgo, in The Great Sandy Desert. The central design shows a series of important waterholes in Mick’s country, being from top to bottom, Kurtal, Lumunpunta and Nyuntjun. The connections between them show the underground and mythical connections. The shapes alongside represent windbreaks used by the ancestors who travelled here during the Tjukurrpa which have changed into sand dunes.
