Title : Nynmi
Size/Medium : 450 x 300mm: acrylic on canvas Painting
Darlene has depicted her grandfather’s country south of Balgo in the Great Sandy Desert. This country is named Nynmi. The central feature of the painting depicts the warniri (rockhole) found at Nynmi. This warniri was created during the Tjukurrpa (Dreaming) when an old lady pushed a stick into the ground causing the water to flow up from underneath. The other features of the painting depict the tali (sandhills) that dominate this country.
