Shirley has depicted here two panels of bush tucker. The cracks throughout the panels are the cracks formed in the earth where karnti (bush potato) lie ripe underneath. 

“When you see the cracks- that means the potato is underneath. When you poke it like this it makes a little bit of noise, you know, thats where the potato is”.
