This painting depicts the objects and story associated with Jimmy’s Tjukurrpa (Dreaming) which is karnti (bush potato). This story is set in Jimmy’s traditional country of Tjukukalyu, east of Balgo in the Tanami Desert. The central shape represents the karnti vine, after the dry season fires, with the flowers developing. The u shapes represent people, while the circles are a series of tjurrnu (soakwater). The lines surrounding the karnti depict the ground after a bushfire.
